Ramped up brand awareness with a website re-design and creative

The Brief

Blue Oval Speed Shop (BOSS) came to Bahlr Media to grow their brand by improving their existing presence and updating their website to offer numerous performance, aesthetic, aftermarket, and OEM parts for Ford vehicles. Bahlr assisted in the re-design and new development of Blue Oval's website, as well as documenting a huge Ford Mustang performance build to help build his social media and brand awareness. Jim Merriman, the founder of BOSS, was already a nationally-recognized mechanic and builder, but in order to focus on his work, it became clear that he needed help with his marketing.

The Problem

Blue Oval Speed Shop wanted to take their business to a new level. As dropshipping gains popularity amongst business owners, it can have a steep learning curve and days worth of work if you don't know where to start. BOSS also wanted to ramp up its brand recognition and digital presence. Jim is a smart guy and knew he needed to stay in his lane (see what we did there?) and do what he does best: build incredible machinery; that's where we come in. Jim needed a brand new website and wanted to document a build on a Ford Mustang that would show off the skills BOSS has to offer, from regular maintenance to fully-custom performance upgrades.

The Solution

We sent our videographer, Josh, to Blue Oval's Speed Shop every day that Jim worked on the Ford Mustang for about 30 minutes each time. Our goal was to create a killer video that would capture the attention of social media Ford enthusiasts. And that's exactly what we did. Bahlr created a build-centered interview video that garnered multiple-times more views than Jim's social media pages even had followers in the first place and could be right at home on the largest auto-enthusiast YouTube channels and television shows. This video became a prominent cornerstone of our community's understanding of Jim and Blue Oval Speed Shop and is still shared today.

Along with the need for chronicling the Mustang build via video, Blue Oval Speed Shop came to us with a goal of giving his website a much-needed facelift, and a new Shopify-powered sales funnel for selling individual parts for various Ford vehicles to Ford owners around the country. Bahlr, which has a couple auto enthusiasts on-staff, even went as far as to source products for Jim and Blue Oval Speed Shop to get him started and to begin automating the selling and shipping processes via partnering with parts providers around the world.

The Conclusion

The power of social media and the right video, written, and visual creative, prove time and time again to grab the attention of the right demographic if done correctly. Blue Oval Speed Shop wanted to take its business to the next level and that's exactly what Bahlr did for him. Even though he is a nationally recognized Ford-endorsed Master Mechanic, social media is a big world and was one of the only tools he didn't have in his shop. We were happy to help him and his business to gain the growth he deserved.
