The Opportunity

Sometimes a project finds you through the places you’ve loved for years.

Vault Coffee is a long-standing local favorite in downtown Coeur d’Alene — nestled inside a historic bank building, complete with the original vault still intact. Corey had been a regular customer for nearly a decade, often choosing the shop as a place to work during Bahlr’s early years. But after owner Danelle Regan reached out asking for help elevating Vault’s presence to locals and the constant flow of travelers visiting CDA, the opportunity to finally partner on something meaningful was immediate.

Coeur d’Alene is a coffee-saturated town. Nearly every block downtown offers a shop, each leaning heavily into “third-wave” coffee culture — focusing on the beans, the craft, and a curated stylistic identity. Vault, however, didn’t operate that way. Their success came from warmth, approachability, family-friendliness, and a menu built for everyone: DOMA espresso, pastries, breakfast burritos and sandwiches, Red Bull blasters, mixed drinks, and their signature offering — the only coffee flights in Coeur d’Alene.

Vault didn’t need to appear exclusive; it needed to feel authentic. This is where Bahlr stepped in.

The Approach

Understanding Vault’s Place in CDA

We began with brand direction and message clarity. Vault’s story wasn’t about elitist coffee culture — it was about community, comfort, and a historic building that felt like home. Our job was to express that without diluting the shop’s charm.

Photography Direction + Production

We designed a photography approach that preserved the tone and honesty of Vault. The shoot focused on:

  • The warmth of the historic interior
  • The original bank vault
  • Real customers and real moments
  • Menu items that represent what local families actually order
  • The coffee flights as a centerpiece

Website Design + Development

Vault needed a digital home that matched the in-shop experience — approachable, warm, and unmistakably downtown CDA.

We built a multi-page website that:

  • Introduces the history of the building
  • Highlights the menu and specialty drinks
  • Uses photography to visually guide visitors
  • Appeals to locals and newcomers equally
  • Positions Vault as a must-visit stop for tourists

The site was designed with clean, section-based storytelling and visuals that allow visitors to “feel” the space before arriving.

Anchor Video Production

To complete Vault’s identity, Bahlr wrote, filmed, and produced a full anchor brand film — capturing the rhythm of downtown CDA, the inviting glow inside the shop, and the approachable personality of the Vault team.

We hired a professional voiceover artist to bring a calm, warm, high-end tone that matched the project’s emotional direction. The script was written to feel welcoming to families, entrepreneurs, and travelers visiting town.

We delivered multiple versions for all platforms:

  • 60-second film with VO (horizontal)
  • 60-second film with VO (vertical 9×16)
  • 60-second film without VO
  • 30-second cut (horizontal)
  • 30-second cut (vertical)
  • A dedicated silent header loop for the top of the website

These versions ensure Vault has the right format for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, hotel networks, and paid placements.

Delivering A Complete Story

The final deliverables included brand messaging, photography, creative direction, a full multi-page website, a suite of video assets, professional voiceover, and campaign positioning — all built to reflect Vault as a genuine, local, historic café that welcomes every kind of person.

The work not only elevates Vault for the CDA community but also introduces it as a must-see experience for every tourist walking downtown.

The Result

Vault Coffee now has a digital identity that finally reflects the soul of the shop — warm, historic, inviting, and true to Coeur d’Alene. The new website and brand film give locals renewed pride in a place they already love, and travelers a compelling reason to seek it out. The photography, film, and website work together to highlight their signature offerings, their location, and the charm that sets them apart.

Vault is no longer just a favorite local stop — it’s a destination.
